6 Great Ways To Make Your Home More Cozy

The great British winter season goes on. The media is trying to get us to cheer up and look forward to various events but from experience and from talking with my lovely customers, there is nothing better than coming home after a long day. Home: the sanctuary of comfort, coziness and relax. I like to fill my home with good books, cozy and stylish blankets, comfortable knits, flowers, candles and home baked goods.

My favourites from Liz & Fitz collection this week are all things that promote the feeling of home comfort and coziness. So pour yourself a cup of tea (or a glass of something stronger!) and enjoy!

Home Made winter book

Culinary editor, food columnist, illustrator, TV show host and an author of several critically acclaimed books in the ‘Home Made’ series, Yvette Van Boven certainly knows a thing or two about how to get the home comforts and coziness we crave. Her Home Made Winter is full of wonderful recipes for comforting food from Ireland, France and Holland, countries where Yvette lived or lives.

Sartorial London book

I adore a good coffee table book! With London Sartorial by Dylan Jones, you get more than just a host of lovely photos to look at. There is a sense of exploration as you look at the chic and stylish neighbourhoods of London, from Shoreditch’s eclectic street style to Mayfair’s classic tailoring and all the rest! Combine that with the profiles of London’s top designers, this is a read to savour and enjoy.

There are some people that claim that all of the world’s problems can be resolved with a cup of tea. Whilst this might be a bit of a bold statement, drinking tea from a proper mug with a few biscuits is always a welcomed break. Make this limited edition Captain Fawcett mug your hot brew vessel of choice - we like our tea strong and dark, preferably with a cinnamon bun from a local bakery!

Watts dress

This one is for the ladies - can’t talk home comforts without the perfect knitted dress. John Smedley, the purveyor of fine cashmere knits have designed the lovely Watts knitted dress in luxurious sea island cotton with extra cashmere. It’s stylish, understated, oh-so-easy to wear and provides the coziness all around.

I adore baking! If you’re in luck, you’d find a cake waiting to be shared in my shop at Parchment Street. The aroma of freshly baked goods is one that always creates the feeling of home comfort in my house. Pig and Fig have designed the oven gloves and an apron set with a fun print of pheasants in a limited edition, especially for Liz & Fitz. Absolutely essential for any good home-baking session!

Patterson jacket John Smedley

Gents, enjoy the coziness of home wherever the day might take you. John Smedley’s exquisite range includes this stunning extra fine knit jacket that works as well at home as it does on crisp walks outside or with a tie in an office.

Shop this week’s collection online - from the comfort of your home or pop into the shop on Parchment street and share your best tips on coziness!
